Hello together,

I am Johannes and new to this forum. I have always liked the Navitimer design but was put off by high-polished cases, agressive marketing and shiny dials. Therefore I have never pulled the trigger on a modern Navitimer. Vintage was never a topic for me as I thought, all vintage watches were generally too light, had too much patina, were too small and are too difficult to get a decent one with original parts.

By chance I saw a 806 a couple of weeks ago. It seems perfect: modern size, great looks, brushed case at the side and matte dials. Now I am on the hunt for a decent 806 with original parts. I have done a bit of research what to look out for.

I have come across this example. The patina on the dial is heavy but I think I could live with it. However, I am unsure if the hands are correct (hour counter looks the same as the running seconds and minute counter). And what is the opinion about the dial? Why are all indices apart from the „2“ white? Serial number is 967XXX

Thank you for your help. :)

Hands are fine, far too much damage to the dial for me. Missing numbers, missing lume. Sliderule is a reprint.

Thank you very much! If the side ruler is not original, then the watch is not for
me.

Just one more question, if I may: why are the markers white? Was the remainder of the tritium scratched of?
