Hi all! After a couple years of admiring from afar, I'm finally gearing up to make my first vintage Breitling purchase. Primarily interested in a Chronomat 769, ideally with a gold case. Any advice on sourcing or trusted dealers/sellers? I of course scan eBay, Chrono24 and the forums quite frequently, but just wanted to check if there are any other recommended places to look. Thank you and happy holidays! |

Not really. Vintage pieces, you just buy them when you find them. With a bit of patience you’ll find what you’re after. The website “watchrecon” is a good one to easily search forums. You can also set up a “google alert” that will do a web scan daily for you. |

Yeah I already have those kinds of alerts under control, just checking if there were any more “straightforward” sources. Oh well! Thanks anyway. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Dial configuration/style will also drive price. Buying at auction is almost always cheapest. The good news is that if you’re after a gold plate case, they are cheaper than steel. If you’re after solid gold, they’re obviously more. I would have though with patience a good example gold plate case around €1800-2200, steel €2.5k, gold €3-3.5k? Condition and source bring the primary drivers in those ranges and a pristine example you’ll pay a premium for, as you should. If buying from a dealer prices would be higher. All just my opinion of course. Bit of an older price trend here https://www.collectorsquare.com/en/watc ... ng-769/lpi |

Yes Collector Square is a good source for vintage Breitling. I also use Watch-Deal Breitling page to avoid missing good vintage models on eBay. |
