Hi all,

Wanted to gauge your opinion on this Breitling 810. The dial is destroyed but the hands, pushers, and crown seem to be good. I think the hour subdial hand may be starting to fade but it can always be painted. My main concern is the case. It seems very sharp and unpolished but it looks really beat up. It’s hard to decide whether sharp and beat up is better or polished with a bit of roundness.

I’m waiting on movement pictures.

Any thoughts on the watch would be appreciated.

Dial is a mess so would avoid. The dial is the most important and valuable part of the watch and why would you want to look at a messed up dial. Guess if you got a big discount and you had a perfect dial you could swap in but imagine those are not easy to come by and not worth it in my mind.

Case and rest of it seems ok to me but would ask for a pic of the back to see if anything is left of engravings, etc. and also movement as that could be water damage.

Thank you for your response.

I can get a spare dial, so I’m not too worried about that. Just worried that it would be “waste” to put a nice dial on a watch that maybe too beat up.

The caseback says 810. But I’m waiting for him to send me pictures of the movement. If the movement is ruined or rusted or missing pieces I’ll probably pass. Too much risk and work.
