Venus 188 donors and moments are on eBay pretty regularly. Whether they have a Breitling branded bridge though is another question. Do you know what modifications you need to make to it for the ref 2005? If you are looking for an already modified 188 you’ll struggle, but you found the rest of the parts so who knows! Vintage parts are hard to come by, and on the forums, parts are only occasionally traded or sold, and even then probably restricted to longer term posters helping each other out. |

Do you realize that the modified movement you seek was a Breitling exclusive? That being a Breitling exclusive means only Breitling had those parts? That Breitling nor its vintage collaborators no longer have these parts. I’m guessing you will say yes to these questions..... Those how might have a donor movement or by some miracle have the modified parts are very unlikely to trade or sell. Don’t try to build the unbuildable especially something Uber rare at that. End of the day, you will end up with a lot of money in parts you can’t assembly to make you project complete and years later you still in that boat. I know if I had that movement I would not sell the hardest part to obtain! I’ll wait you out till you give up and buy your parts! Love your optimism though! |
