Would anyone care to explain what's going on with the dial on this one? For all intents and purposes this 817 looks legit, but then there is that odd dial. Seller claims the dial was "repaired by military maintenance". The symbol/logo is interesting, and I wonder if it designates the aviation or airborne unit these were originally made for? ![]() |

No idea. Cool find though. As an aside, I might have a lead on a NOS dial for an 817 if you’re planning to purchase. |

The piece was priced very competitively on Chrono24, and was reserved within hours, if not minutes...and not by me. You'd also need to get the hands re-lumed that distinctive orange colour. I'm just intrigued why they might have added the symbology.

Yes this one was sold indeed within hours. Also not by me. @dave do you also have eventually the sub-minute counter hand? |
