I have this unusual Breitling. A 1972 Pult that was sold to me as a New Old Stock with out a band in Dec. 2000 by Classic Times in Heidelberg, Ge. Bought on a whim, never worn. Can I get some feedback on this timepiece. Is it a Breitling orphan? What's it worth? Really. I paid 1880 USD.

They’re not terribly common, and a bit of a “love em or hate em” watch. When you do find them, they are often NOS (as is mine) as there have been lots of cases flying around over the years, as so they’ve been reassembled outside of the factory. Obviously straight from Breitling ones too. I think there cool but like yours, mine has seen little wrist time. You can search online for current values, but it’s more than you paid for sure.

better suited for the "Vintage Breitling" subforum where you introduced yourself.

launched in 1972, there were two versions of the Pult or Pupitre (roughly "Desk), the ref. 2117 Chrono-Matic & the ref. 7101 w/ the cal. 7740:

wear relatively comfortably for a "Bullhead" (at least compared to the Omega I've tried to love in vain), but so "unusual" they rarely turn into daily wearers - not a huge success at all, so lots of "dead stock" cases were assembled w/cannibalized movements from other Breitling or even worse, other cal.12 brands, often using incorrect date wheels and/or hands, so caution needed when these are offered for sale.

market pricing roughly 3.5-4k, asking often higher.

nice watches irl.

Thank you for the information. I'll move the discussion to "Vintage". Encouraging price info. I was ready just to get even.

Your wish is my command Fred!

(By the way, I love these Pults/Pupitres. Fantastic looking things IMO)
