Hi I inherited this Breitling watch and as you can see some of the gold plate has worn off. Shall I re-plate it and does anyone have recommendations for a supplier? And does anyone know the model, the original cost, is it rare, etc? I believe it was bought in the 1960s. Many thanks in anticipation of replies Chris |

The model is not common in terms of the dial style (which I quite like), but gold plated dress watches generally aren’t hugely valuable. It’s really up to you if you want to get it replated. You’ll need to have a watchmaker remove the movement and dial etc to send it to someplace like this, which is a respected workshop but there will be others too https://www.replateit.com/ Or you could probably find a watchmaker to manage the whole process for you. There is a 3 or 4 digit reference number on the back of the watch that you can use to search google for other versions, prices, movement info, etc. |
