Hi all,

Could somebody be so kind as to identify this calibre?

I believe it to be a 188 c1950.

Many thanks in advance,
Jack

can we see the dial side plus inner/outer caseback please?
I can confirm that this is an early (late 40s or early 50s) non-Incabloc Venus cal. 188, but can’t say anything about the watch ;)

as feared...
yes, it is a Venus cal. 188
no, it not a „1950s Breitling“

incorrect dial, missing 11xx model reference
missing 6-digit serial (should be in the 7xx.xxx-8xx.xxx range)

sorry to bring you these probably disappointing news.

Not dissapointed but naturally curious. It is still a nice watch, to me anyway. I assumed that the back was a replacement because of the lack of ref and ser nos but what does the dial suggest to you regarding this watch? Are you suggesting that it is not genuine or that it is later/earlier than the assumed c1950?

Any educated guesses?
