54, of course; July to be precise

and I can’t really discuss the fact that you seem to generally mistrust the production ledgers ;)

will post examples of 1964 beadeds.

Well - I have to say that I have not seen a single beaded 64’ 806 over the period of 20 years I have collected and studied Navitimers intense - regardless of Breitlings ledgers, so until I actually see one, they don’t exist in my book.

“Several” is more then 2, and I will be looking forward to the day you hopefully show me one, as that will be the day I accept that they exist.

I am curious to know what the ledgers say about the first Navitimers, 52’ or 54’... !!

I am not saying that I don’t have belief in Breitlings ledgers, as I will actually prefer to trust them, I just need proof to back it up.

Kurt:
after checking the ledgers again, need to correct myself, the "806&809" batch is very late 1963, the February 1964 batch is 806 only. as said, have seen several over the years, don't own one personally.
this example was owned by a very close friend & forum member, now owned by another close friend and well-known watch journalist, have seen the watch in the metal several times.
Don't want to publish the serial of a friend's watch, can send you the number by pm if you have doubts.

"fake" may be a bit harsh, let's call them "modified". quite a lot happened during service, neither watchmakers nor clients cared when a faded dial, a dirty insert or hands that had lost luminescence were replaced (and cared even less if the spare part was "period correct").

the sad thing is that this is still happening - daily and with all brands.....

I should have said « horribly unauthentic » 806 / 809, that are sometimes sold by sellers who claim themselves as experts in « courts of law » (at least in France).
I recently saw an 806 full black dial with mark 3 hands sold by a well-known seller / expert on his website (Romain Rea)...

Romain Rea:
Maybe he knows that most pieces he offers are not completely correct but he never mentions those in the watch descriptions.
Pricewise he is far from reality ;)

Thank you very much Fred.

If you have seen the serial number, and it’s 64’, then that’s by far enough for me.

I love when things like this happens for me, hopefully it’s not the last time I’ll need to change “my book”, - or should I say, I’m sure it isn’t.
