Hi I'm new to the forum and have just purchased a 1806 Navitimer and was interested to get some more information on the watch from the great knowledge base of this forum.
I'm a big fan of vintage Breitling watches especially the 60's and 70's big case models and finally purchased a Navitimer.
The serial number 1255551 seems to show the Navitimer as an early model with black date, black and white hands and all black bezel maybe 68/69? I heard about pre series watches but not exactly sure what that means.
I've attached some pics of the watch and also a pic next to my quite battered everyday Chronomat. I noticed the hands are more red on the Navitimer? The condition seems really good for a watch of this age so wondering how original it is. It was described as a Cal12 so not sure if movement has been changed. I haven't had it opened up yet but it keeps great time so far and everything works as it should.
Any insight/thoughts etc would be very much appreciated.
Thanks, Graham.
