The crown has two positions, one for altering the time (pulled right out) and one for altering the date (half way out). If the crown was fully pulled out when you were changing the time then no damage can be done. If you were trying to alter the date in the date change crown position (half way out) in the danger zone then damage can be done. It sounds to me like you were only moving the hands with crown the fully out so you're fine as the hands would not move in the date change position, only the date wheel would move..

It's not written in blood that you'll do damage adjusting it as you did initially but manufacturers recommend against it due to the possibility. If you have damaged it it's already done so might as well adjust it manually to the correct time and date and see what happens when the date changes.
