Post subject:  806 Service UK

Hello, Please excuse me if this subject has been covered repeatedly.
I bought my 806 when I was 20, I am now nearly 73 and the watch has been worn nearly every day so shows signs of wear but that is not important to me, this watch is my only personal possession that I would be devastated if I lost it or damaged it.
I bought it from Joe a Polish watchmaker in Shrewsbury who when he was still alive serviced the watch for me, it has been a number years since his death so I am looking for someone preferably located in the Midlands UK who could look at it for me, it is working but I just get the feeling when winding the watch that the spring is getting weak and it would benefit from a general clean.
Joe advised me to take care who looked at the watch as reassembling the watch is a task that not every watch repairer s skilled enough to complete. Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated thanks

I could recommend Richard Askham at http://thewatchspotblog.com. I think he is in the midlands someplace. He has a good reputation and there is a wide variety of work done with vintage watches shown on his site. I have used him and his work is very exact.

Art - if Richard can't help I recommend any of the following, they have all done work on my Navitimers or Venus 178 movements to a very high standard.

Sean at https://watchrepair.expert/

Mitka at https://mitka.co.uk/

Christian at https://watchguy.co.uk/

An even later response, my apologies, following your suggestions I contacted Sean at Watch Repair expert and arranged a autumn date for the service. I cannot speak highly enough of the whole experience, Sean keeps a secure web page for each job which he updates as the job progresses together with a selection of photographs as he dismantles and re assembles the watch. I am very pleased with the work undertaken, just a clean and no renovation work.
