So I got this one a few years ago, and it works like a top. Handwound, of course. Just got it serviced, and my watch tech says it's genuine. I want to identify it ...am pretty sure it's 1956, based on the number on rear of case, and movement seems genuine mid 50-s movement. Please help. ![]() Attachment: 20190227_143230.jpg Attachment: 20190227_143240.jpg Attachment: 20190227_151245.jpg Attachment: 20190227_151256.jpg Attachment: 20190227_155739.jpg

I'm not familiar with the reference to say its a fake, but certainly the dial and hands are not correct. And the caseback is contrived ("swiss made on a caseback?) Maybe someone knows if B used that movement. Curious to know what would be "antimagnetic" about it! It sounding a bit fake at this point..... |

The movement is an ETA 1100. Breitling did use ETA movements but I agree with Dave that the hands, dial and engraving (inside and out) look suspect. Movement dates to 1955 |

I agree with David, hands are complete fantasy, dial is at least a reprint, and the engraving machine has been used to enhance the "Breitling identity" of this watch . Difficult to say if it has something really Breitling ? For sure I should not buy it ! |

Thanks everyone. Appreciate the insight. So from what I'm hearing, it has a 1955 movement, and as per: http://www.brittons-watches.co.uk/watch ... _dates.htm the case number would signify a 1956 watch., if it were genuine. I did already buy it several years ago, and it's works really well...long reserve and very accurate. I paid $500 for it, which is obviously a lot of money, but hey...guess i'll just keep it. It has a nice vintage look to it. My tech did say it has a quality movement. And I kinda like the dial with the blued/blue keystoney hands. ![]() |
