Hi everyone. First of all, thanks for the chance in chasing information about this time piece ![]() I bought it around 20 years ago, and I was told by the first (and only) owner that he had it for 50 years already. I am pretty confident that it is real. The owner was a Portuguese military officer who won the watch in a Horse Race in India. (That’s the “story” behind it). As I never serviced it, or have it properly evaluated, I’d like to know as much as possible about this beauty... (I would love to know the exact year). Although I find some information while browsing the mighty “Internet”, I was never ever able to find a picture that would look exactly the same as mine. Which on one hand concerns me, but on the other hand I fell excited about it as it can mean that the watch is not “so comum”. Thanks in advance for any help that you can provide. Cheers! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

sadly not authentic, Breitling did not use these "double caseback" 18k cases; neither reference nor serial are correct. |

I have known the owner for 5+ years... so disappointed. Are you 100% sure? Thanks a lot for your insight! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

sadly yes - these cases were manufactured for low cost assemblers, most of the watches branded Chronographe Suisse; paper thin 18k gold that needed inner casebacks from cheap metal to stabilize the case; Breitling (and other high-end brands) never used these cases. also, as said, watch lack both a documented and correct model reference and has no 6-digit serial as all Breitling of the period do. |

Thank you so much! I am really sad as I believed it was real for 20 years. But at the same time I’m happy to know the truth. Cheers! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Sorry to bother again Fred... Is there anything interesting about this watch? Or is it total rubbish? I mean, there is some gold in it... Is this worthless, or everything about it is fake and trash? Sorry about the questions, but as I have it for 20 years, I have some attachment to it... What would you do with this? ![]() Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
