Recently I was very fortunate to purchase a V72 1954 Navitimer from a well known Breitling collector. The watch came with the original lizard band, but I don't dare wear it. I am looking for a period correct band and buckle.

but several styles of straps work on the navitimer , personally I like a vintage style croc in dark brown

Sorry about the first batch of pics not all coming through. Appreciate the tip on the band. Is there a source for the correct band?
Also, what type and style buckle would have been on this Navitimer in 1954

a source for a strap ? not that I know
They were originally sold / delivered with the padded lizard straps , maybe you can find something similar
The buckle was a plain unsigned buckle

hi Brook- why not take your original strap and send to a strap maker to copy? I can recommend a couple who wouldn't lose it ;-)

Also, the buckle on the strap i sent to you was what they were shipped with originally, just the plain thin vintage style steel buckle.
