Hello,
I am new on this forum, I am looking for information regarding a Breitling watch that I inherited after the death of my grand-father, many years ago.

The number on the back is 2912 - 29, and I tried to find out something on the web, but nothing seems to correspond...

My grand-mother always told me that it had been bought for my grand-father's 30th birthday, therefore in 1949. Some models from 1949 and 1950 looks quite similar, but not exactly match mine.

Any help most welcome. I cand send a picture if needed !

Kind regards,
Christophe Le Villain

Hello,
i tried with 1 or 2 pictures, but the systems of the Forum says "The file is too big, maximum allowed size is 1000 KiB."...

Maybe there is an email adresse where I could send the pictures ?

Kind regards,
Christophe

Here is the forum advice:

You should be able to upload fairly easily from the posting screen. However, if your photos exceed the maximum size, and you cannot resize:

1. Go to http://www.photobucket.com and open an account.
2. Upload your images there.
3. Get the code from that page where it says "IMG Code - Forums & Bulletin Boards" And paste that into your post, and voila! Your photo will appear.

Or simply resize the photo to be less than 1,000K

If you cut and paste the URL into the dialogue box then this happens!

it is a nice watch, the dial design reminds me of the Girard Perregaux style watches from the 1950s. I do not have anything definitive, but Breitling had a Cadette line of watches in that era. I would spend some time doing a google image search and see what you find. Also try completed sales on ebay in advanced search using your reference number. Opening up the watch and seeing the movement might give you another clue.
