This has probably been discussed, but I am having trouble finding a good thread on it. Does anyone know how much gold is in a vintage 18k solid gold chronograph case? I assume there are non-gold components like the crown and pushers. I also assume it varies brand-to-brand. So figure a typical vintage 38mm Breitling chrono case. Just trying to get a ballpark idea of the value of the gold of a watch like this - forgetting about the actual watch components and collector's value. |

In a case of gold 18 k there is 750/1000 part of gold. The 24 k i s not use because the gold is not a hard metal and The risk of scratching is very hight. |
