Hello All, My first posting after spending a lot of time reading and looking around on the internet. Not my first Breitling, that one was a 2006 Montbrilliant Datora which I was forced to sell, still regret it but that's life. My initial idea was to look for a new used Datora but then the more I looked the more I fell in love with the vintage Navitimers. So I ended buying a AOPA Navitimer 809 from '65 (acc to the SN) I would like to ask the opinion of the experts here if I made a good purchase...Dunno what to think about the dial face. It looks very clean and is missing all its luminescence. Its to clean for a 50 year watch? And what about the Cristal? Well, have a look at the pictures; ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Welcome to Breitling Source. I'm no vintage expert, there are plenty here....but that sure looks nice to me. Best year possible too (my birth year). |

Thanks, Yes I am very pleased with the watch! Slowly realizing that I am wearing a watch which is older than me... Would like to get some feedback from the experts here, but so far they remain silent... ![]() |

It looks ok to me. Pictures aren't brilliant - all I flag as a minor point is the lower pusher looks replaced as the cap looks a slightly larger size than the one on top. Not a huge issue and could be corrected. |

Well, its been fully serviced so for now I will live with it. |

Well, have a look at the pictures; It's a beautiful & rare original watch, and I wouldn't be bothered much about the pusher. Some patina to the dial, but it's uniform, and something we see on a lot of Vintage Navitimers. Kurt B http://www.kurt-b.com |
