Post subject:  Masking serial number?

Hi,

My first post and the thought was to post pictures of some very old chronographs but should I mask the serial numbers?

+1
no reason whatsoever, as Breitling does NOT have watch-specific records

I think people do it so you can't trace where they bought it from.

Also heard that people think they are giving the fakers a legit number to use....but don't see how this would make a difference or stop them!

as explained above, there are no "legit numbers" for most Breitling models - for some of the rarer references we've (or actually mostly Rene with a bit of help from me) established serial ranges (early 765 AVI, Unitime 1765, Black Cossies & the ref. 817) to deduce production quantities, but "legit" numbers would only apply for the rare brands that have (almost) complete production records with serials for all watches produced. Breitling doesn't.
