I don't often see here many postings (compared to other vintage fora like onthedash) about notable sales and / or offerings from big blogs (h o d i n k e e) , auction houses (Phillips / Christies ) etc

For me personally its interesting to watch these watches being sold, price in-(de)creases , trends about what sells where quickly or not so quickly but I hardly see any postings here . Is there some sort of BS etiquette to not mention or post about these ?

just wondering , as this ref 790 sold today within the hour for $4200

and Phillips has some (very) high priced vintage Breitling offerings coming up

I do find very interesting to follow what is sold quickly, or not, and at what price.
It helps to feel the market and then confirm the current "correct" price for a piece you are searching for.
I must admit I am waiting to see the Philips sale (will be there)...
Some high price indeed but a large watch with black dial, round pushers (just missing the screwed case back) like the 806, with an important place in watch history might reach some good price when looking to similar pieces.
Interesting anyway to see that prices also really depends on the audience: one piece can stay for a week or more on a french forum and can be sold within an hour at big auctions.
When it is sold by big auction houses it becomes more collectible for many collectors.
The same when it is sold by hxxxxkee.
