Hi I'm new at this, breitlings that is, not watches in general. I was hoping someone could give me feedback on this Navitimer I'm looking at and whether it's worth the asking price. It's being sold by a dealer in the UK for 2950 GBP or 4197 USD. I'd like a 60s 806 with white subdials, an original dial, and hopefully indices that aren't too burnt out. Does this fit the bill? Thanks! http://www.vintagewatchshop.com/vintage ... 565999.jpg |

I may know more Monday. The listing says it has Breitling service history and they appear fairly reputable though I'm not familiar with them as I am in the U.S. No movement shots Case back http://www.vintagewatchshop.com/vintage ... imer05.jpg Crown, pushers, lugs http://www.vintagewatchshop.com/vintage ... imer08.jpg Another angle on the dial http://www.vintagewatchshop.com/vintage ... imer06.jpg |

a very very nice piece... for sake of being complete: i can't say with certainty if the sweep hand started out life with that lume on it or not we have seen many pieces now with a lumed sweep hand, but this example doesn't really seem to match the other hands or dial... perhaps it came from the factory this way, perhaps it was an option provided at purchase, who knows... BUT original or not... it definitely would not stop me from buying this watch. |

So if you want to know the end of the story, it turned out there was a very thick and prominent engraving of the previous owners name on the side of the case that wasn't visible in all the pics. Kinda slimy to try to hide it. I passed. |
