Hi guys (and girls),

I am a noob to Breitling - actually going to buy my first Navitimer tomorrow. It will be a 1966 gold-plated one with the serial number 1090305. See attachment. Any thoughts on this watch as well as a rough estimation on it's value in your opinions will be greatly appreciated.

My main question concerns another watch that I just saw at a local internet platform. It would be great if anyone out there could quickly identify the watch and point me in the right direction as to where I can get additional information on it. Again, pricing information is highly appreciated.

+1 for 2nd .
Your '66 Navi seems to be in good condition except for the crown , plating of which looks worn, but maybe due to the pic.

I'd make sure the hour counter resets correctly on the Nav; crystal is wrong, but that's very minor; dial lume is mediocre.
I am not absolutely convinced the sliderule isn't a refinish, Eric & Rene are our sliderule gurus and will comment, I hope, but larger/better pics would help.

Correct, it did not start life as a Breitling. Looks like classic South American fakers at work. Avoid!!!!

what would be a fair price in this case (wrong crystal, sliderule refinished)?

LOL, I just spent 6 months in Argentina and I saw a lot of nice but overpriced watches in Buenos Aires. Glad I did not buy any...

There has been a scam going in Albania for awhile were one watch, all vintage brands, is offered for sale, sold, then pops up again a few weeks later being offered for sale again but in another part of the country. Buyer never gets the watch and is sold multiple times.... BEWARE!!
