Hi all. Hope everyone is happy and well. I recently ran into trouble sending my '66 Navitimer to chronodeco in the USA for service. I used Fed Ex and it was held stateside by US Customs. They wanted a job sheet to be completed by a watchmaker. Craig very kindly completed that and sent it but still the watch was returned to the UK. Fed Ex in the US claimed we didn't meet their requirements and that the form was provided after the deadline. Fed Ex UK knew that wasn't true and disputed the case. Anyway, long story short I asked for the watch to be returned to me. Does anyone have any recent experience in this and have any recommendations for a safe and effective method? All help and advice much appreciated as always. Thank you, D. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I have a FedEx account but try never to use FedEx for international shipping because it almost always causes issues with Customs in either fee's or delays. I get packages all the time from the UK using Royal Mail Registered (signed for). It generally takes about 10 days but NEVER has Customs delays or fee's. |

second that. though there's a limit for insurance amounts; sending dozens of watches across the Atlantic every year; never lost one, though they tend to look for Vienna, Australia, from time to time. |

UPS and frankly just Royal Mail seems more trouble free. FEDEX always gets stuck. |
