Post subject:  Late 1950s Olympic Airlines Breitling

Looking for some expertise here, hoping someone can help.

This is my grandfather's Breitling that was given to him by Aristotle Onassis when he asked my grandfather to go to Greece to build Olympic Airlines in the late 1950s. The face, in Greek, says Olympic Airlines, I believe it's 20kt gold (the edge reads "plaque G 20t" or "plaque G 20 kt", hard to tell if there's a "k" there or not), and the serial number on the back is 1351.

Does anyone know anything about this watch? How many were produced, value, etc?

Thanks
Brian

it is "plaque" or plated gold in 20 micron thickness ;)
the 1351 is the model reference, you will find a 6 digit serial inside the caseback that would tell you when the watch case was manufactured.

great heirloom, congrats !

Thanks WatchFred! Do you know anything about the fact it was personalized for Olympic Airlines with their name on the face? Assuming that's not a common practice?

Also, recommendations on where I should go to get it serviced?
