Hi all!
Could you please help with this one?
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/321752665285? ... EBIDX%3AIT
The chrono hand looks wrong to me?
Also the slide rule looks like a replacement?
I know the pics aren't great but is the movement correct for the watch?
Many thanks,
DT.

Agree, chrono hand is wrong (but you can buy correct replacement) and sliderule is replacement (hard to find original)
movement looks OK to me.

As a novice, may I ask how you know the sliderule is a replacement?

Thanks.

He's referring to the black triangles on the slide rule. The correct slide rules from the period did not have these. Some had red markings but these are only correct if the dial has similar red markings.

Although I must say, this is one of the better reprinted slide rules I have seen. Does anyone know the origin?

Lastly, the bridge does not appear properly engraved.

It's the "Y" looking thingy that says "Breitling" on my pic and appears blank on yours.

Yeah I see. Thanks Eric. I thought is was just the rubbish pics. It's on eBay right now. Tempting at the price. As you say the replacement slide rule doesn't look too bad.
Is it normal that the navitimer on the dial is quite bold bright white compared to the twin planes logo?
Thanks
DT

Im not tempted at that price for that piece at all. There are good original examples around. Better to be patient and spend a little more (if needed) to have an untouched watch. There is no need to sacrifice with this version, not too uncommon. Just my opinion.

Y-thingy is fine - just not very good pics, but the stamping is correct

the sliderule is "wrong", as it has black markers when there should be none on black only sliderules and on the new style sliderule they should be red - but print quality is excellent, on par with OEM sliderules.

Heard that Breitling has recently produced "black only" service sliderules, would be typical for them to get those wrong ;)

I'd like to hear more info on that...I was wondering. The print looks slightly raised and glossy like an original one. Maybe Breitling was purposely doing us a favor by making them slightly incorrect so we could tell the difference (.....maybe?)

However, have a look at the line near 21... It's far too long, touching the number. I'd be surprised if it came out of the factory that way, Replacement or not. Although It looks much better than the one Will posted a few days ago

Have a feeling we will see more of these

The one I posted appears to have a longer '21' marker too!? Could just be the dodgy photos...again!
