Looking at this watch for a colleague who is after a birth year 1972 Chronomatic.

Dealer tells me the cal 12 movement is marked Buren 12 Hamilton Workshop and not Breitling. Tells me this is quite usual. I understand the connection in cal 12 development but should a Breitling not have a Breitling marked caliber?

Thanks.

Will

Most likely a franken watch. Someone used a Hamilton marked movement and the dial looks like it's from a ref 2110. €3000 is optimistic.

yes, without the shadow of a doubt.

you'll find many franken Breitling cases assembled w/ Hamilton or Gorgerat Kelek movements - so dealer is right that it's quite "usual", but clearly wrong.

Fred, aren't all 2130's black dials?
