It's what's left of the Old World collection from a few years back. Some unusual pieces there, but not sure that it adds up to that kind of value.

I must agree with Roff. For those who have followed the sale of this collection over the years, I recognize it's been an effort to sort, price and sell them one at a time. Having said that, I'm not sure that it's worth the price, considering that so many are "stop-watch" style. Personally, I'd make fair offers on some of the rare wristwatches, as they are lovely on the outside. Of course, they'd have to be seen to by a watchmaker, in terms of the movements, and that will be an effort in and of itself.

Some of those polymer coated ones are a bit on the weird side...I wonder what we would say if we saw one of those pop up on eBay with no provenance and no original sticker on the back? I'd think many of us would say "fake" immediately...

I looked at these when they first popped up and, although there's a couple of really good pieces, I thought value was about half of the buy-it-now.

In 1999 the cossie was $1990 , so a bit later i think ?
