Last Spring, my Mother-in-Law was going thru some of her late husband's things and found an old Breitling (along with 2 Omegas). Unfortunately, it didn't run and it had a cracked crystal. She asked if I wanted it (silly question). Of course I said yes! I took it to my local jeweler (who I had dealt with to service my daily wearer Chrono-Cockpit and my Rolex) and they suggested we send it off to Horological Services. That was last April.

I picked up the watch today... I couldn't be happier. The serial # dates it to 1962.

Thanks! Other than not running, a few minor scratches and the cracked crystal, the watch was in exceptional shape. The face looked pretty much as you see it. Oh, and the leather strap was shot... ;)

I never saw my Father-in-Law wear it in the 20+ years I knew him. He either wore a Plain Jane Timex, or an 18K Rolex Presidential... Quirky guy...

We also found a (non running) Omega Constellation Pie Pan that went to one of his sons.

It wasn't cheap to get it up and running, but after doing a bit of research, it's easily worth 3 times what I paid...

I'll cherish it and pass it down to a future Son-in-Law (I have 3 daughters) or possibly a grandchild...
