Lots of problems with this one for the uninformed. I think 1965 is too early for a 7736, 806 on the back looks shifty and should be either 806-36 or 806E. Oversize pushers. Etc.

too late for a beaded bezel in 1965, much too early for a 7736 (1969 or later)
and more .....

parts watch.

Same encasing dimensions for V178 and 7736 so it is easy to " reengine " an empty 806 case. As far as I know the 806-36 was issued in 1967 and the 806-E in 1970 , both due to V178 shortage .
The only incompatibility is for dial feet, and finding an original dial with 7736 pining is scarce.
The 2 watches here look like made from parts, or maybe from recycling a further Aviator version with an earlier caseback? Wrong in any case .

Phil, Valjoux only launched the 7733/36 in 1969, so these 1967 claims must be myth - stock cases from earlier production years.

For sure Fred, if I remember correctly I found the explaination about 806-36 comes from Jean Michel on navitimer.net about 10 years ago.
Since this period we know that a SN from 1967 just means a 1967 incoming case - or possibly caseback only? As a case is machined and a caseback is stamped, I am pretty sure that they were not procured as kits , but paired furtherly.
On 3 samples of 806-36 that I saw, the "806" was stamped and "-36" engraved as a rework . Same observation on my own 806-E dated 1970 according to SN .
