Post subject:  Chrono24 for selling used Breitlings - any experiences?

I have a few watches I want to sell in the next few months, and considering the best way to go about it. In the recent past, I've posted them here on the Sales Forum, and also on eBay. I had no interest at all from the Forum, but all three sold quite well on eBay via the "Make an offer" route. Since eBay lifted the seller fee cap from 10%/£75 to 10%/£300, eBay no longer seems a good route when the margins are small and you want a reasonable price for the buyer.

I was wondering what experience was like selling via Chrono24. I've nerer done it but seems financially a more reasonable approach. Any comments>

Ive sold once or twice through C24 ,its a lot slower than through Ebay but less costly and you can take your time and set a price you're comfortable with

Also you need to instill a lot of trust and faith in the buyer as there's no such thing as 'seller rating' or feedback system

no personal experience with sales on 24 - just an obervation.

about 20% of my watchlist pieces were from private sellers - and all are now marked sold, so it seems to work ;)

I have purchased through Chrono24 with no problems although the sellers have been business sellers, Cresus for example.

No experience yet of private selling but considering too for same reasons (ebay fees!) as your good self!

i am a newbie here and i am wondering, that as it is written in the start thread

here in this forum there is no real interesting/feedback for vintage Breitling
in the sector "Buy/Sell/Trade"

is it so?

if - yes, why?

here are the experts for watch valuation related to authenticity.

So is it, that there is no real traffic, for the reason, that people/seller
think it is no good way to place a perhabs not perfect watch here

or

is there also no feedback for good, authentic vintage watches?

regards

Stephan

Because Vintage buyers are a cheap bunch (well , I am ) , penny pinchers , and would rather spend years watching Ebay auctions hoping to save a few 100 than pay at or just below market prices ;)
But its a perfect place to sell very quickly if you are in a rush to sell and do not mind a less than maximum price or to buy from a trusted source when you do not have the patience to watch ebay for several hours for several years to find that perfect piece

Another factor is traffic , here 500 people may see your listing . on ebay a multiple of that (x10 or x100 ?)

Everyone can place a watch for sale , either mint/perfect or imperfect , most important part to buy or not to buy is the price

There's a lot of feedback here on BS and watches that are 'not 100% as described' are typically were critically reviewed

thx for your answer.

i knew, that military watch collectors are penny pinchers.

they have a easy calculation:

they think about how much years they have still to live and
than how much fleamarkets they can visit in one year.

The result is, that they know how much chances they will have
to find theire watch.

Didn't know, that Breitling collectors are a little bid the same, but
not everyone can be so crazy and friendly to the seller as Heuer collectors.

So Heuer collectors give their watches away for low prices ?
I have never looked into Heuer but I find that a hard to believe statement ? (if true I will start buying Heuers from collectors ;)

I am probably missing something , but if even collectors amongst themselves pay crazy prices , surely there's nothing against that ? I am sure they believe they have a good reason to pay top prices

and I apologize for the enormous thread drift
