I've been looking for one of these for a daily wearer for some time and picked this one up yesterday. It's got a bad movement but I have a couple of spares. These were the earliest quartz movements as designed and marketed by Girard-Perregaux in the early 1970's. They are really pretty durable and don't require regular oiling since they have Teflon bushings. Sort of hard to date since, for some reason, the serial numbers all started with 100xxxx which would lead you to believe 1965 on the serial number chart. However the Motorola IC on the movement is date coded 14th week of 1973.

Just got the watch back from my watchmaker and he replaced the stem with one form my G-P parts watch and the Chronomat is working like a charm. Not bad for a 40 year old quartz watch.
