Came across this chrono24 auction...

http://chrono24.auctionata.com/intl/o/8 ... round-1965

They listed this one navi as a "around" 1965 806.. The listing makes no mention that the serial #825xxx is from approx 1953, (to my untrained eye) the beaded bezel and twin jet dial with large sub registers are completely wrong for each other, the dial has been relumed...... What else am I missing? And they have the estimated value listed at 4000€ ?

For a kick read the Auctionata guarantee (sales pitch) where it states that all watches have been evaluated by experts and that they value honesty. you have to assume your 25% buyers premium is paying for that inspection and straightforward information... Well if you assumed that, you'd be wrong. Glad I didn't bid with confidence on any of their other pieces.

many of the auctionata Breitling are Franken or outright fakes. They pulled some of the fakes from the first auction when I informed them - just to relist and sell them at a later date.

this at least is basically authentic. Just a hodpodge of parts.

So I guess this one is described as from "around" 1965 just like the fake ones are listed as "basically" real in the description
