Have been left a few items by an uncle who passed away and a couple of watches are included. This vintage breitling is in average condition but was working. Ive already got a few nice watches so agreed to try and identity and value it for my aunt so that she might get a fair valuation and also hopefully someone with a breitling passion might get an interesting watch. Pics attached arent the best but any help or info would be appreciated thank you.

to put a realistic value range on the watch we need GOOD pictures; it is a ref. 815 "LongPlaying", launched in 1969, produced until the mid 1970s; Valjoux R7736 movement.

Prices vary according to condition, of course; from a low of $/€ 800 to 2k max.

very decent condition. we've seen some suprisingly high sales recently, but I'd say 1.2-1.5k should be a realistic level.

you might want to watch this auction http://www.ebay.com/itm/291258382099 - very nice watch and box, people probably put off by the reserve and the unrealistic BIN.

Am suprised tbh. The glass is marked but would no doubt polish up. I cant find any box or papers as it was handed down from his father. It will have been serviced somewhere at some point as he looked after his posessions generally. I have h8s omega seamaster on daily as he did and its beautiful. Ive also inherited a beautiful berreta shotgun that is prob 15yrs old and in super condition.
I'm tempted to try and see what it looks like on a proper strap as its quite off putting in the flesh and detracts from the watch.
what sort of strap would it have had originally and what would fit etc? I have my own jlc master chrono with alligator, leather and stainless sports bracelet, and it looks totally different on each

The ebay watch does look better on the glass. I have an identical alligator strap and that one looks excellent on similar! !
