I frequently have to explain why the sub register constant seconds hand at 9 is different than the ones at 3 and 6 on the Venus cal 178 (also includes the cal 152 and other Venus 3 register chronographs. Same is true for the Valjoux cal 71, 72, 88, 7736 etc). This hand has a longer pipe than a standard sub register hand - see pic, long pipe hand on left, standard on the right. Added to that, this hand has a smaller hole than the others making fitting difficult. They did this one these movements to avoid a major movement modification that would have been required to use a 4th wheel with a longer post. These hands are hard to find even as generic replacements let alone originals for the 806. So the next time you see a "funny" looking hand at 9, you will know why.

Thanks for posting. I didn't realize sub hands were so hard to find.
