Who made which one first? Was it marketed watch with dial that all you had to do was apply your brands name. Very intriguing.

Rumour has it marc nicolet was the oem , i personally wont guess which is who or what as there are little hardware differences like the lume dot / triangle

Its interesting though to see all the similarities

Fred , i'll get the digital calipers out an start measuring the case :-)

Rene I appreciate the update. The similarities are phenomenal. Are ref #'s and production dates very similar?

These didn't have serial numbers corresponding to what Breitling normally used so impossible to date other than when they first appeared in the catalog (1969). Probably another good indicator they started life being manufactured by a third party.

no serial and a 5 digit ref. no. ;)
clearly not "normal" Breitling production, but documented in catalogs.

Post subject:  Re: Little secret

sorry, confusedFred. something was off & I doublechecked, 5-digit yes, but it was the serial number - totally different from others of the same period, mine has 28251.

I've seen other brands using the same hands and case but none with exactly the same dial as well. I get the feeling the case was used by a few companies.

I just got the same watch and I truly believe it's original. The watch was sitting in a jewelery box for 0ver 40 years.
