I hate it when auctions don't do their homework on pieces yet expect full market value.
Two watches coming up at WOK. Number 1 is incorrect case back or dial. Incorrect slide rule, incorrect second hand- this is from my eye- please put me right if i'm wrong.

Number 2 is a dog of a Super Ocean-didn't sell first time round in April. Pushers have seized, watch won't wind. Unable to set time on the watch. None of this is in description. Looks like someone has had a right go at it when handling the watch- for the right price okay but guides- £1500-£2000.

Just wanted to make any of you guys who would want to bid but can't make auction aware of these.
Again if i'm wrong with the 1st one- please advise as i'm still learning!!

I buy at auction often and the old saying 'buyer beware' very much applies, having said that most auction houses i have dealt with will on request supply condition reports, extra pictures etc, i'm not sure there is a responsibility to point out originality any more than if a piece of furniture has had the handles changed!!
I think the main points are, know your topic, don't buy without viewing unless you are confident of what you are getting, and generally the market finds the value. Maybe that's why the Superocean didn't sell last time.
