As a followup to my post a week or so ago, my Navitimer 809 is now with a very well respected watchmaker for servicing. He has a lot of prior experience on Venus 178 movements and vintage Breitlings so I feel confident he'll do a good job. I also made sure there was nothing left to chance on what I wanted done which was to service the movement, give the case an ultrasonic clean with no refinishing, and lightly polish the acrylic crystal. I want this watch to be in as original condition as possible while still being a wearable good looking watch. I am told it will be approximately 6-8 weeks turnaround.

Anyway, the purpose of my post today is to ask what fellow 806/809 owners have used for a strap on these watches? I ordered a 22mm black Alligator with white contrast stitching from Walt at Lone Star this morning. I have bought his Genesis II straps before and have been quite pleased with the quality.

I am curious if anyone has done something radically different? I know they originally came with either a bracelet or more commonly a lizard strap. I don't feel the need to be so original as to try and find a NOS lizard or even a modern lizard. Thanks in advance for any advice and I'm looking forward to posting the after shots when she returns from service! -Chad
