... just finished up a 2 month project on a 7661 for a customer in the UK. This one took a bath in salt water nearly 20 years ago and the movement was beyond repair. Built a cal 12 movement from a box of parts containing about 3 movements and a lot of bad or broken parts. I won't do that again!

Surely a challenging restoration Craig, well done, have any before pics, esp of the dial?

Here are some more pics of this one. The dial was just fine but the outer bezel ring had to be refinished. The movement was total rust! I did manage to clean up the original Breitling chrono bridge (muriatic acid) so it could be used on the new movement. One of the pics shows the 2 + cal 12 movements in parts (some good and some bad) - what a mess! It took me between 10 and 12 hours to build 2 complete cal 12 movements. A challenging project for sure.

Amazing job Craig, and it just shows how something can be brought back with the right craftsman!

Looking at those pics... if someone told me to take on this task, I would've just broken down and cried like a little b***h.
