Might be interesting for someone else as well ? I have a 806 with very damaged caseback and as i like the venus 178 a lot and like to look at it i had a caseback made by a dutch instrument / watchmaker As soon as the watch comes back from the oregon spa i will mount it but this is what the case back looks like  I can post some 'making of' pics as well if anyone is interested |

looks great - did u have the original caseback to exactly fit the dimensions ? have still never tried to swap casebacks between cases (actually should), but it's claimed to be hard to do, so you might have to work on the final fit when the watch arrives ? |

I used the original back for measuring , but i doubt it will be a perfect fit the first time We'll see when they both get here so i can try it on . If it fits i think it will look great

Looks great, I too was thinking of adding one to my 806 when bought it and Kurt said he knew someone who could custom do it very well but would need the case for proper fitting. Did you get yours done without sending in the watch? Can you share approx how much that cost and if the fit was perfect? Thanks |

Hi San I had it made without sending the watch , its a little oversized and can be pulled off quite easily but there's no 'play' around the case I will have to make it fit properly probably by 'notching' the caseback gently with a small chisel to make it fit the case. Not yet completely sure whether I want to do that or have the watchmaker make a new one As the 806/809 cases are all a bit different in size I cant see how a watchmaker can make one without the watch , I am just not sure I would want to send the watch costs I paid were 140 euro |

Guess that's the reason the caseback maker has to have the watch for a perfect fit. I suggest you don't try it yourself. |

So much better than on an auto watch where the rotor covers up so much of the movement. |
