Hi, I am new here and not experienced with posting in forums. So forgive me if my postings are strange from a technical standpoint. I recently purchased an AVI 765, but I am struggling with finding out if all component are matching. I think movement, case and dial are matching but how about the bezel. If anybody could help me with that I would be happy.
I hope that my foots download!

well, Renè/Dracha, Mr. AVI, will chime in soon, he knows all there is to know about these pieces.

watch looks basically correct for a 1965 AVI ref. 765, running seconds hand is wrong; minute counter is hidden but seems the right shape, though looks a bit too long - if u "unhide" it and repost we'll be able to say more; bezels is in exceptional condition, dial seems very nice; congratulations !

the 1965 AVI has been seen with black bezels as well . However the hands are incorrect , as Fred already stated the running second hand is incorrect (subdial) but also the dial looks to be an incorrect replacement , there's no '12' at the top ?

furthermore
Chrono hand slightly too short
15 minute counter (subdial) hand incorrect
Minute hand looks slightly too short but I cant really tell from this pic
and I believe the hour totalizer is incorrect as well

given the original hands are probably impossible to find, all in all the restorer / watchmaker has done the best he/she could finding replacements , I like the replacement (arrow shaped) Chrono hand and would love to know where they got it from

Dial is (the same as) from a ref 7652, I think someone used one of those as a replacement dial

Thanks for your quick expert replies. Looks to my like I bought a part bin exercise. I will send more pics with unhidden hands. The watch looked like a hardly worn nearly nos example, but with all the changes it's more likely a resto.

IMO not even a restoration but more , as you stated, a parts bin watch. Now known as a "frankenwatch" which is a watch build together from parts from different watches.

It is wearable but not original and not worth as much as a 100% correct piece

here are some more pics, dial does not really look similar to 7652. What would you think, how much a "frankenwatch" could be worth?

Please have a close look at both dials , they are identical
May e the coloured hands and ring around the dial throws you off but it really is a 7652 dial in your watch , an original 765 AVI dial has an arabic 12 at 12

Rene,

You are absolutely right with the dial! So, still the question how a watch like mine could be worth?

The people here are Breitling fans, there is no perceived value in a franken piece beyond the value of any parts. The only reliable way to decide value is to list it on eBay with full disclosure and a 0.01 starting price and let the market decide. As a collector piece, it has no value.

Value, ?
I think Roff is absolutely correct with his remark about puttingbthe watch on ebay and see what it brings, to put a value on the parts i would still like to see the caseback to ascertain whether or not the case is genuine and how old it is

*if* the case is genuine ( please post a pic from the caseback ) personally i believe the following would be a fair assessment (prices based on recent auctions for similar parts)

Case incl bezel : 500-600
Dial : 100-150
Movement: 600-800
Handset : 150-200
