Hello guys and girls! My name is Rasmus and I recently inherited a beautiful Transocean Chronometre. Since I really love watches and history I went to combine the two and tried to find out as much as I could about the watch. After several visits to the local Breitling store and a lot of work on their part all they could tell me was that the watch is propably from the 50s or 60s and that the movement is a Eta 23 something. I studied the internet and came to the conclusion that its propably a movement from the 2360 family. But now I´m stuck. Maybe you guys can help! Can you tell me what kind of movement this is? Is the number on the movement ( I believe its 916508 ) the serial number and following the thread in this forum the watch would be build in 1960? Greetings Rasmus |

the serial number will be inside the caseback, might even be a bit earlier. |

yes, both versions were available, documented in an early '60s Breitling Germany catalog. Breitling considered the solid gold TO chronometer "to be it's most perfect creation in their collection" for all regular readers here: another example of a case-fit mesh bracelet on the TO that we heard a lot of doubts about.

Such beautiful watches! I really like the mesh bracelet on the silve ones! But on a gold watch a golden mesh bracelet would propably look quite "wrong"... Thanks for all the answers! So does anybody know which kind of Eta movements Breitling put into their Transocean Chrnometres in the 50s and 60s? When did the "chronometre" age begin if Novacastrian dates his as pre-chronometre? So WatchFred did you check if the number on your Trasocean is the same on the back of the caseback and the movement? So nobody has any Information on the Kind of movements Breitling used in their early transoceans? Greetings Rasmus |

Thanks for the reply! The 2365 would have been my guess too but I couldn´t verify it. How did you get to the conclusion that it is certainly a 2365? What is your source? Greetings Rasmus |
