After 11 years of collecting them big time, one morning you open your mailbox, and there’s a mail, offering you to buy a Navitimer with a dial you have never seen before.

Non AOPA signed AOPA shield, and on top of that it’s a 54’ Valjoux 72.
Unfortunately the numbers have been redone, the hands painted and the case polished. Crown and pushers have most likley been replaced as well.

Polishing must have been really brutal, the sharp edges of the lugs aren`t there anymore !

Strange to find something like this
If you look at the serial number, does this sit between other v72's with aopa on the dial or could this be a first production run ?

Too bad about the lume, hands etc

An unfair comparison, your's was basically unused when I by mistake sold it to you, and far too cheap ;~o)

Come on, € 485.- after 3 hours of tough negotiations was still a rip off !

Cheers, Julius

Rene, because that looks like the same watch on Ebay being discussed here without all the issues about it already mentioned above stated in the sale ad, or am I missing something and is this original?

It doesnt state its original ? , it says "nice condition" no need to spell out every little detail that is clearly visible in the pictures (IMO)

All i can say to prospective buyers is DYODD , which i am sure they will do given the prices of these
They will probably find this thread as well if they research the watch
