Was just reading this topic viewtopic.php?f=13&t=49545 when I saw this all black 765 AVI with a (I assume) Breitling 'restored' dial :(

15 Minute counter incorrect
dial markings incorrect
dial font incorrect

Image

now it looks like something  dreamt up

sad. at least they haven't put Chrono Avenger hands on it.
"Breitling - disrespect for our heritage" would be a fitting new slogan.

I suspect that the truth is more "ignorant about our heritage"

this level of ignorance shows deep disrespect, they just don't give a damn.

It is disrespect and cynism beacause they are always ready to exploit their heritage for marketing purpose . In the Chronologs they are vintage pics everywhere and most of them cannot be considered as a reference . Just look some of their "1952 AOPA" either with a redial, or corresponding to 1970 versions , the 1975 Chrono-matic cal 15 used for illustrating the birth of cal 11 in 1969, etc ... they are definitely away from any reference in terms of vintage models. :guns: :guns:

Breitling needs to offer you guys jobs as vintage consultants. However, you would destroy their marketing BS. I'm constanly amazed on how much forum members know. Keep on educating us!

Missed this topic the first time round, but just found it via another thread. Sad to see Breitling so ignorant of their own heritage.

That's why whenever someone says their vintage piece has been confirmed 'authentic' by Breitling we take it with a grain of salt.
