There are a couple of very close examples on page 25 of Richters book.

price is wishful thinking, maybe 10% are realistic; but might well be correct ?

It looks correct to me, agree that price is rather 'optimistic'.

Looks close to Richter's samples and 100% ok with Fred's appreciation :
For the seller , there is a good new and a bad new - :
=> good new = basically impossible to find those early chronographs
=> bad new = basically impossible to find a customer at this price level

Maybe with a perfect dial the real value would be more than 10% , but the market for those antiques is very narrow .

I never got the connection between Breitling and Montbrillant (not Montbrilliant!!) is there a certified connection between the 2 brands/markings ?

anyway, I seem to remember that I saw this piece before , w/ the damage on the dial ? has anyone else seen this piece before on Ebay or C24 ?

re price,

anyone can ask whatever they want of course, but I doubt it will even reach 10% ? , that might just be me being slow catching up on really rare pieces but rarity does not mean high prices , at least not in my book and historic significance doesnt always command the highest price either ?

Absolutely. In G. Leon Breitling's time (30s) the company was officially Montbrillant Watch Manufactory, named after the street that the factory was on in La Chaux de Fonds

Better to ask too much than too little. He's probably just trying to get a feel for what the interest is. Putting a watch on ebay with a silly high price is one way of judging the market, based upon the bids, without fear it will sell too low. You can always accept the highest offer.
