I'll dig the books out and see what I can find - but agree that it's overpriced. I always get nervous of photos that don't show casebacks / serial numbers and movements as well.

I liked his supply - nice!

Reminds me that I definitely should check out my AD's supply of pre-owned watches as soon as I get to Tokyo.

Well, it's a Long Playing - that's not a specific watch, more a range of watches. It looks right to me, although I'm not sure about the hands - not saying they're wrong, I just don't know.

I definitely wouldn't buy without validating serial and model numbers and checking the movement. In terms of value - maybe $2,000 - $2,400. The papers don't really add much to the value, though will make it more saleable.

There are a couple of versions of this watch that I've seen. The earlier version uses a nice Lemania movement and is the most valuable. The later movement is the Valjoux 7736 and I would put it's value around $800-$1200. The earlier Lemania version I would think would be slightly higher in the $1000-$1500 range. There are gold plated versions of both but they usually go for less than the stainless steel.

Post subject:  I know this shop, too

There already was a post somewhere about this shop I think.. from there I went on the site and I actually had called him about a Universal Geneve Tri-Compax and a Breguet Type XX both of which I almost bought...

The prices are quite high although the guy seemed very reasonable and professional.

Also, his watches are mostly sold with a one year guarantee..

Anyone from North America would have to transfer the funds to him, I don't think he would accept Credit Cards... that could be complicated..
