Okay, now for a better introduction than my "fission" comment on the Geigher counter watch (but that was funny). Thanks to Fred for guiding me to Chronodeco and Craig at same for getting this watch restored. There was some discussion about 765 not being a Top Time on another forum, but it seems to be an original watch. It will be in my rotation when the brown alligator strap arrives.
Fred, I sent you a PM on another restoration project, really interested in your opinion.

Very nice and a pride to wear. Being from Florida I have a thing for the gator strap, it will ROCK!!
Congrats on the restoration and to Craig for a wonderful job.

Thanks guys. Craig did a great job, and this watch needed his TLC. He found some issues he'd never seen before but was able to quickly correct them. I am a Craig fan.

This is what the watch looked like when I received it (story is on WUS if you want, and it's permitted, I will post a link to that)

This is the strap I ordered

hard to find 21mm straps, as I am sure you know.

Very nice piece, and yet another advert for Craig.

great watch. though instead of a light box get the camera+ app for yr iphone and a bit of shade outside or use yr car as a light box. most of my pics are i4 or i5

Uhhh, yes it was in need of some intensive care unit time. What a job Craig.
Just amazing what can be done when an artist has a good canvas to work with.

Absolutely beautiful, and is a perfect example of why I would choose a Toptime over a Speedy. Well done and hats off to Craig again.

Craig has outdone himself again, and surprisingly quickly!

Great find, and scrubbed up beautifully!

Post subject:  Re: My restored 765 Top Time

It's my lucky day. The watch arrived 2 days ago, but I was out of town so picked it up from the post office this morning. A few minutes ago the postman delivered my strap! It's quite nice, I didn't see any references to them anywhere but took a gamble. I think they have it in a matte finish as well. But I wanted to start with a shine and let it wear into its own patina - I do plan to wear this a lot.

Question - how do I know how much to wind it? Craig told me 40 times, but I am nervous. Can you tell when it's time to stop? How much reserve does it have?

Now pics (tweaking Fred's photo tips, I also should've used a tripod and looked for dust).

Well done for this restoration !
Great AVI and great combo with this strap !
I also have a 765 and I wind it every day 18 or 20 times.

OK, I need some education. This 765 looks almost identical to my 1964 Top Time 810, so what is the difference?

Thanks...
