And there was a small antiques fair. Found the attached who now have a new home (after a frantic email or two to Fred to confirm that I wasn't crazy)....

The patina on the 769 is incredible. The Datora is close to NOS I think -- seller has the original strap at home and will get it shortly...

Wonderful find. Yes, that is something you just don't walk up on here in the States. The best luck I ever had was an unadvertised estate state sale in Palm Beach, Fl. ( I live in Fl. ) were I was lucky enough to find a 664 TransOcean lying in a box of costume jewelry.
Once in a lifetime find for me. You did great. Keep going back!

Wayne

:wowzers All I need now is a car boot sale or an antiques fair at one of our local meeting places, and I can............

What am I saying! We would never be so lucky to get this sort of offering at anything we have locally. You are one lucky chap. Love the 769. Very, very choice.

wonderful pic, wrong watch ?
David got his ref. 769 for an excellent price (think I'll have to go to South Africa),
but I'd REALLY like to know where to get an 18k ref. 801 between $1.7&1.9k please ?

Pic , yes, with moonphase, is from the 1988 Vintage American & Europan Wristwatch price guide by Roy Ehrhardt and Joe Dempsy, even back then the valuations where quite on the low side, however the book has some nice old pics in it, will post some more later, cheers
