For many models, although am specifically focusing on 814 for now. Will go back to Nav's when I have researched more. Lot more to learn!

So, I am hunting for a steel cushion case, 3 register black on white 814/Top Time. Fred has been very helpful in critiquing some of the ones I've found (I can't thank you enough, seriously!) and recommended a range of GBP 1,300 to 1,500. Or $2,000 to $2,300 USD - ish.

But I can't find anything in this range. Is it just me, or is there a large degree of wishful thinking with the listings, and they actually sell for less? Or do I need to make an upward revision of my pricing expectations?

My experience thus far:
$3kUSD was a NOS panda that I missed. That was the ad price, I didn't inquire as to sold price. Kicking myself for missing that one.
$2.9k is a good quality specimen. Maybe. Asking is well over that.
However, I am now seeing well used ones at $3.6k equivalent in various currencies?

I wonder if I might ask if any could let me know what they have paid in the last 6 months for similar? PM is fine, if you don't wish to disclose publicly. And, if this sort of thread is a rule breaker, please delete it.

Thanks all!

as discussed, a realistic BIN/offer price is around €/$1,500 max. for a piece in decent to good condition;
the watch Rene linked to looks quite good; completed listings do not help too much here, these are quite rare.

Thanks again, guys. Rene, that ones pretty good but I am being fussy and going for a white dial with black subdials. Fussy, I know. Will check that vendor though they aren't coming up on my search.

I cant help you with that but remember that you will have to search using different searches and languages (german, french , italian, spanish even japanese etc) if you want to find rare watches :-)

yup, and its not only the finding and collecting that takes a fair amount of time, all though it certainly will, but protecting yourself from buying 'less than 100% original watches' (or more blatantly 'fakes') that consumes at least as much time but its worth the time invested
