well, actually a bit more than just one wrist shot.

this one was truly "worn out", like almost all other non-18k ref. 176 and ref. 178;
case was in very, very sad condition; much too shabby for me to happily wear.

I know some purists frown at this - but that black dial and these hands, I just
had to make this one come alive again.

Craig hates to do replating and refinishing work, so I was searching for NOS cases
or a case refinishing master; patience and persistence, here are the results.

case is close to perfect, sides & caseback brushed, pushers and crown refinished;
actually almost indistinguishable from the NOS ref. 178 posted below for comparison
- quite happy with the results, even if the purists ..... :D

Very nice Fred and I fail to see the problems of taking a watch that wasn't practical and restoring it to pride of place on the wrist. At the end of the day if we can't wear and enjoy them then it just becomes about money, and that's rather belittling of this hobby of ours!

I agree totally. My watches are to wear and not stick in a case, If I can't enjoy them there is no since acquiring them.
