I live in Texas, and need the name of a reputable repair shop (some where in USA) to do an overhaul of my grandfather's watch. It is a chronomat, and on the back has stamped, "769" and numbers 683086. He was an army captain, and stationed oversees during WWII. Does not work, face is excellent condition, crystal is scratched, so needing a bit of work. Also, when I ship, what value should I place on it for shipping insurance purposes? Thank you, Lesa |

Our tame watchmaker is in the US - contact Craig, username chronodeco. There are plenty of threads here appreciating his excellent work. Value is tough without seeing it, but as a family piece that obviously means a lot then I would look at an insurance valuation of at least a couple of thousand. Welcome to BreitlingSource. |

+1 re Craig/chronodeco: great guy, great watchmaker, quite tame indeed ![]() I'd put 2k insurance value for a nice SS piece, 3.5 to 4k for an 18k gold ("face in excellent condition" sounds great, make sure u post pics after Craig has done his magic, please) |
